Future Plans
I can't believe it's almost August! This summer is going by really fast. I've been having a great summer. I went to a five day sailing camp and then a week after that, I went to a camp at Liberty University. Liberty University is where I want to go to college after I graduate. I want to study to be a journalist. My plans are someday to create a magazine for christian teen girls. So many magazines for girls today are very trashy and don't uphold christian morals and values. I know not everyone is a christian but I also know that there are some girls who would like a magazine that is christian and not trashy. I believe that by going to Liberty University (which is a christian school), I will learn how to be a journalist in a christian way. This will someday help me to make a magazine for christian girls.

The Year Ahead
Finally! I can now breathe a sigh of relief. I am now finished with terrible, horrible, no good, very bad Junior year. I am looking forward to being a high school senior. At my school, being a senior means top status. On Homecoming day, us seniors get to proudly wear decorated cardboard crowns and enter the pep rally after the underclassmen in the "senior parade". We get cool shirts and jackets announcing our status. We are the only ones who get to eat lunch in the courtyard and leaving class five minutes early. In May we have senior trip, senior picnic, senior prom. If you have a B in all of your classes, you get to finish school two weeks early while the poor underclassmen sit in class until June 17. I am looking forward to being a senior and graduating. School can't start fast enough. Bring on Senior year, cuz I'm ready!

Being an Adult
I've been thinking about growing up lately. I'm seventeen and I am finishing up my junior year of highschool. It seems like everyone expects me to act mature and like an adult now. I know I should but it gets so annoying that people just want to all of the sudden push everthing on me. If I even act the slightest out of turn, it's a huge deal. Last weekend, I was sick and had a rough week of exams. I had to go to a weekend trip with the crew I am member of to race boats. I wasn't thinking straight and some people were picking on me. I got upset and started crying. Now I'm in trouble for my "meltdown". I'm just a sensative person and I have a riht to cry whether I am an adult or not. I just with people would relax a little. I'm still learning about growing up and I don't even know who I am yet. It's not my family being to hard on me either. It's other adults. They need to lay off a bit because they have no place to try to teach me stuff if my parents don't.

Southern Food
I'm a total southern girl. Well, I am actually from Michigan but I came to Virginia when I was only nine months old. I don't consider myself northern at all. My mom says I am a Sothern Belle (Hence the name). I talk southern, eat southern food, I am even a Southern Baptist! One thing that really showed I was southern was this summer when I went to Montana. In Montana, they serve weird food like elk, buffalo, red rainbow trout. Here in Virginia, we eat collards, fried chicken, and the works. After just a couple days of eating the Montana food, we were about to die. The food was strange and we wanted our good ol' southern style dining. We were discussing it on the way to Bozemen when we came upon a Cracker Barrel (its a restuarant that specializes in Southern food). We were so happy that we ate there four nights in a row and I had chicken n' dumplinges every night. I think we would have gone crazy eating elk if we hadn't found the Cracker Barrel. That is an example of just how southern I am.
